Elizabeth House provides high quality accommodation and support for single homeless people. Residents, ranging in age from 16 upwards, are accommodated in self-contained en-suite flats, one of which is accessible to wheelchair users. The idea of the service is to support vulnerable people away from homelessness and onto independent living in the community. Staff, who are on site 24 hours a day, provide extensive support to boost residents’ skills, their confidence and their ambitions before they are able to make the transition to move-on accommodation.
What we are doing
Elizabeth House is preventing homelessness and providing much needed opportunities to vulnerable people – people who would otherwise be homeless and at risk of entrenched social exclusion. The service provides so much more than just a bed for the night; it provides a solid and supported base from which homeless people can begin their recovery with dignity and security, and plan for the rest of their lives.
Elizabeth House is just one of several Framework accommodation centres that gives vulnerable people a second chance.
