Women’s Complex Needs Service

The Women’s Complex Needs Service provides temporary supported accommodation for single homeless women from the Nottingham area with a variety of complex support needs. Residents can arrive with a wide range of issues, including physical, mental and sexual health problems, a history of drug, alcohol and sexual abuse, and a record of offending behaviour, prostitution and self harm.
Staff work to stabilise chaotic lifestyles and coordinate structured support packages that link service users with other specialist interventions and treatment. The service works with a tight network of voluntary, statutory and community organisations to ensure the immediate and ongoing health and social care needs of women are met and that all relevant support is available.
Service users are expected to be meaningfully occupied - for example, engaged in training, education or employment – and must express a determination to change their life-style if they are to be accommodated.
What we are doing
Women can lose their home for many reasons, including relationship breakdown, pregnancy, substance misuse, domestic and sexual abuse. Once they are homeless they face increased risks of lasting physical or emotional damage. Without appropriate support they can suffer from exploitation, abuse, mental health difficulties and a range of other serious problems.
The service offers vulnerable women a chance to move on with their lives independently and with confidence in a safe and supportive environment. Staff provide extensive support to help residents achieve independent living by developing essential skills and providing links to education, volunteering and employment options.

Applicants will be invited to an interview where their
needs and support packages can be discussed.
The team will then make a decision on whether this service is right for them.
