Framework expert selected for national rough sleeping group
Framework rough sleeping expert Jason Marriott has been chosen to join a national homelessness taskforce.
Jason, manager of our outreach services, has been selected by the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government, to serve with the Rough Sleeping Initiative taskforce – set up to advise local authorities and help deliver on a new national strategy on rough sleeping.
Jason, who has worked with Framework since 2004, will be one of several experts working under Thames Reach CEO Jeremy Swain.
He said: “Rough sleeping numbers have been going in the wrong direction for far too long now and local authorities have been struggling to cope. I am very proud of the work we have been doing in Nottingham to get people off the streets and keep them in accommodation, and look forward to sharing my experience with partners across the country.”
Framework has been calling for a national strategy to tackle rough sleeping for some time, arguing that local authorities need national leadership on the issue.
Framework Chief Executive Andrew Redfern added: “There aren’t many people out there who have more experience or knowledge in this field than Jason. He really is an expert in street homelessness and I am delighted that he has been given this opportunity to share this expertise with others.”
